Woman with blue dog backpack from TARIGS

Let’s do something good together!

Let’s make the world a better place together!

That was the idea behind the first “Limited Edition” of the TARIGS MountainRock Backpack. But how? Very easy! The “Limited Editions” are special colors of the dog carrier backpack. They are available in all three sizes. But only while stocks last.

For each backpack of the “Limited Edition” that finds a new owner, (converted, if you order e.g. in CHF for Switzerland) € 20  will be donated to a good cause / a charitable project. Doesn’t matter, what size you choose.

Every limited edition gets its own good purpose! The current “Limited Edition” in color Water Blue collects for a project: Clean plastic from the ocean!

A sea of plastics!

But what can we do about it? Much of the marine litter is made of plastics. The biggest problem is that it can take 350 to 400 years for plastic to completely decompose. Today, an average of 13,000 plastic waste particles float on every square kilometer of the sea surface. Packaging materials, as well as waste from fishing and shipping, such as network remains or ropes, are responsible for the suffering of more than a million seabirds and other approximately 100,000 marine organisms, which perish as a result. A picture of what is not strange by the media, but the problem still feels so distant to us. Whale and dolphin species, sea turtles, seabirds and fish can eat and swallow garbage, get tangled and strangle in parts of garbage.

But that’s not all. When plastics are decomposed, they release toxic and hormonally active additives such as plasticizers, flame retardants and UV filters into the marine environment or the organism that absorbs them. Microorganisms are unable to completely decompose the plastics. That is why the powdery tiny particles remain in the marine environment, probably forever.
