Yes, all models are designed for comfort and durability. They feature a sturdy base and a reinforced back section. For optimal carrying comfort, all models are equipped with a height-adjustable chest strap and a hip belt (partially padded with hip fins) to distribute the weight optimally. Many models (except MountainRock S & M and PeakStone S) also feature load control straps for additional carrying comfort.

For extra comfort, there is the PaddedPlus Hip belt: this additional, extra-strongly padded hip belt can be combined with all TARIGS backpacks in any size. The PaddedPlus hip belt provides excellent support for the back and hips, supports the bottom of the backpack, and distributes the weight ideally. It is particularly recommended for pressure-sensitive individuals, frequent carriers, and anyone who wants to adjust the position of their backpack from time to time.

Are the backpacks suitable for air travel as cabin luggage?2025-09-17T11:43:19+02:00

Many of our backpacks meet the requirements, but this depends on the model and size. The PeakStone Backpack in Small and Medium, the MountainRock Backpack in Small, and the Dachshund Mini (S) meet the requirements for approved transport containers for many airlines. Larger models such as the MountainRock Large or the ROOFPACKER are usually too big. It is essential to check this with your airline in advance, as guidelines and regulations can change regularly.

All TARIGS backpacks are made from high-quality, water- and dirt-repellent materials such as PVC, vegan leather, ripstop, or Cordura, and are very easy to care for.

Important: The backpacks are not 100 percent waterproof. This is not possible due to the necessary air circulation that must be provided.

The sitting/lying position varies depending on the model:

  • MountainRock: Slanted forward (less suitable for lying down)
  • PeakStone, Dachshund, Bulldog: Sideways (ideal for lying down and looking out)
  • ROOFPACKER: 360-degree sitting position (ideal for curled-up lying positions or for sitting)

Shipping is usually as fast as possible. If we receive your order before 6 p.m. German time (working days, except prepayment), we normally ship the next working day.

We offer worldwide express shipping. Within the European Union, Switzerland and the UK, the delivery time is usually 1 business day. Outside the European Union the delivery time is usually 5 – 7 business days, or faster.

Normally there is no delivery on Saturdays and Sundays.

All TARIGS backpacks are made from water- and dirt-repellent materials and are very easy to care for.

The easiest way to clean your dog backpack is to wipe it down with clear water and then dry it, or simply brush it dry. Be sure to dry metal parts immediately to prevent rust. Then store the backpack in a dry place.

Getting used to the backpack should be done gradually and positively. Start by letting your dog explore and sniff the backpack in peace. Reward him with treats and praise when he shows interest or touches the backpack. Then put the backpack on for a very short time and slowly increase the wearing time and distance when walking. Be patient—every dog needs its own time to get used to the new feeling.

Inside the backpack, there is an integrated safety leash to which you can attach your dog’s harness. Although this is a good safety measure, it does not offer 100% security, as some dogs are very adept at freeing themselves.

Since the windows are large enough to ensure adequate airflow, a dog could theoretically escape. For this reason, we recommend practicing safe sitting in the backpack whenever necessary so that your dog gets used to the situation.

Our backpacks are generally suitable for most body types (for women and men) thanks to their adjustable straps. However, there are a few important tips for your personal comfort on longer tours: The Dachshund Backpack Mini (S) and Midi (M) models, for example, are more suitable for people with short backs. If you are very tall, the hip belt may not fit optimally. In this case, the PeakStone Backpack and the Bulldog Backpack would be a better choice. Conversely, very large or wide backpacks such as the MountainRock Backpack 20 kg / Extra Large, the PeakStone Backpack Large, or the Dachshund Backpack Extra Wide can be unwieldy for smaller people. Yes, our backpacks are ideal for older dogs or dogs with joint problems that can no longer walk long distances on their own. The backpack allows you to easily adjust the distances your dog covers and let them rest whenever they need to.

However, if your dog has any existing medical conditions, we always recommend consulting with your veterinarian or physical therapist regarding their individual needs.

Yes, our backpacks are also suitable for puppies.

It is best to always choose the size that will fit later on, or the largest size for large dog breeds, as puppies grow extremely quickly in the first few months. Too much space is not a problem here. We recommend placing the Booster Seat, a blanket, or a pillow in the backpack so that your puppy sits higher and can see out better.

Yes, we offer a 2-year statutory warranty on all our backpacks. This applies to material and manufacturing defects that occur despite careful and proper use. If such a defect occurs during this period, please contact our customer service.

Unfortunately we cannot bear the return costs. Please fill out the return form. We will then either send you the address to which you will send the package yourself or send you a return label (not possible for all countries).

Why we don’t cover return shipping costs?

We want to offer you high-quality products at fair prices. This includes a transparent cost allocation for returns. If we were to cover the return shipping costs for everyone, we would have to pass these costs on to all products. This means that customers who keep their orders would indirectly be paying for the returns of other customers. We don’t think that’s fair. In addition, the risk of abuse of the return policy unfortunately increases. Customers could order items (unnecessarily often), just look at them or use them for vacation, for example, and then return them free of charge. This would increase the costs for all customers.

Return shipping label

When using the return label, the flat rate amount will be deducted from your refund amount. The return label will be mailed by DHL and is valid for DHL/Deutsche Post or their partners abroad.

When using the return label: Please note that the parcel must not weigh more than 31.5 kg and must not exceed the dimensions 120 x 60 x 60 cm. Otherwise surcharges will apply, e.g. a bulky goods surcharge of €30 / £28.

    We appreciate your understanding that we cannot refund items that have been worn, used, or damaged, as well as items from which the tag or protective packaging has been removed.     Yes, we are happy to do that for you! We will gladly help you get the German Value Added Tax (VAT) back as soon as we receive the customs-stamped original invoice from you.

    How the refund works:

    • Collection: If you have your order delivered within the EU (e.g., Germany), we are legally required to collect the VAT of the country of delivery.
    • Prerequisite: You must have a permanent residence outside the EU (e.g., Switzerland). It is important that the billing address in your order must match the residential address shown in your passport.
    • Payout: We will refund the VAT paid as soon as you send us the original invoice (stamped by German Customs) after exporting the goods.

    For heat-sensitive or brachycephalic breeds (such as pugs and French bulldogs), as well as in summer, the PeakStone, Dachshund, Bulldog Backpack, and ROOFPACKER are particularly recommended. All models offer optimal air circulation thanks to their three separately opening windows and can also be opened completely to ensure maximum ventilation.

    Please note, however, that if it is very warm outside, it will also be warm inside the backpack, regardless of the material. Therefore, be sure to follow the general rules that apply to dogs on hot days.
