TARIGS Dachshund Backpack is designed for Dachshunds and dogs with a similar physique. It is characterized by the large width and low height – made for dachshunds. With its low weight and plenty of storage space, the Dachshund Backpack is suitable for ambitious hikes, extended bike rides and adventurous day trips. Intelligently placed pockets allow you to reach everything easily and without effort. Plus, the carrying system provides a high level of comfort for you and your dachshund. The dog carrier backpack in the four sizes Mini (S), Midi (M), Maxi (L) and 60 cm / Extra Large is suitable for all small, medium-sized and large dachshunds as well as corgis and dogs with a similar build.

Info: For taller individuals, our PeakStone Backpack and Bulldog Backpack models often offer better comfort due to their longer back length. The Dachshund Backpack (especially the Mini and Midi sizes) may result in the hip belt sitting too high for those with a longer torso. In this case, the optional PaddedPlus Hip Belt can significantly improve the fit.

Some dogs can be put into the backpack immediately and carried around in a relaxed manner, others must first become used to the backpack. Similar to a dog carrier. How much training is needed depends on the character, age and breed of your dog.

How to get your dog used to the dog carrier backpack (quick guide):

  1. Exercise your dog physically and mentally. For example, with a long hike, a bike ride, and so on.
  2. Put your dog in the backpack. Reward with treats. Slowly increase the time in the backpack. Tip: You don’t have to start walking / cycling right away.
  3. When you are ready, put your dog in the backpack and the backpack on your back. Alternatively, you can wear the backpack on the front. However, due to ergonomics, we do not recommend that you carry the backpack in the front for extended periods of time, especially with medium weight dogs. Tip: First put the backpack on your back from an elevated object, for example a table.

The Dachshund Backpack is made of extremely high quality and durable Cordura. Cordura is a particularly robust, dirt- and water-repellent material. In addition, it is very flexible and lightweight. Despite the high robustness, Cordura has breathable properties and dries quickly.

The dog carrier backpack has three windows. These can each be closed with a zipper. The 3D mesh is both light and air permeable. Thus, your dachshund can look out even when the window is closed. You want to leave the windows open? No problem! Just open the zipper at each window, roll up the 3D mesh and fasten it at the top with the small buckle.

The Dachshund Backpack has ergonomically shaped shoulder straps and a padded hip belt with integrated zipper pockets. The open-pored back padding fits comfortably and prevents pressure points. Your dog remains particularly close to the body’s center of gravity and is optimally balanced. The various adjustment options allow you to optimally adjust the dog backpack. The carrying system enables the load to be shifted to the hips.

The dog backpack itself has a sturdy frame, which prevents it from collapsing both when standing and lying down. An additional cross strap, which you can attach at will, increases the stability.

The dog carrier backpack has a total of three mesh pockets. Two on one side and another on the other. Here you can store water bottles, poop bags, treats and much more. In the front area (outside) the backpack has a zipper pocket. Inside, you’ll find another zippered pocket where you can store your gear and food.

On three sides of the dachshund backpack are windows. These provide good air circulation. The 3D mesh of the window is both light and air permeable.

The water-repellent and sturdy bottom of the dog carrier backpack is especially important for the comfort of your dachshund when being carried in the backpack. The stable bottom is padded about 1 cm thick and ensures that your dog does not “sag”. A strap in the backpack allows you to secure your dog and keep your dog safe. Especially when cycling this is very important. We recommend you always to fix your dog with a harness to the carabiner of the strap. Of course, the dog backpack also has a sturdy handle that allows you to carry the backpack in your hand.

The backpack is equipped with three openings / three mesh windows, so ventilation is provided. Of course, if it is very warm outside, it will also be warm in the backpack, regardless of the material. So please follow the “rules”, which otherwise also apply on hot days.

There are numerous situations when a backpack to carry dogs and cats is surprisingly convenient. These include…

  • Trips by bus or train
  • Long walks with puppies / senior dogs
  • Extensive hikes
  • Cycling / Mountain bike tours

  • Place the backpack and open the entrance completely.
  • Put your dog in or let him walk in.
  • Secure your dog to the backpack’s tether strap with a harness.
  • Close the backpack.
  • Keep changing the sitting direction if your dog doesn’t do it by itself. This ensures an ideal weight distribution.
  • The shoulder straps must be adjusted according to the application.

    We travel extensive around Europe in our campervan. Having a very nervous dachshund have struggled with different products taking her on our bikes, nothing has rally worked, until now, she loves going in the backpack. Its really worked for us, next adventure taking her on bus

    Ich bin absolut überzeugt von Tarigs und habe den Dachshund-Mini-Rucksack bewusst mit Zubehör gewählt – mit der Sitzerhöhung, dem Kuschel-Schlafsack und dem zusätzlichen Hüftgurt für mich. Habe ein Hohlkreuz und bin schnell druckempfindlich, da ist die zusätzliche Unterstützung klasse!
    Mein kleines Dackelmädchen wiegt 3,7 kg, da hat sie genug Platz und dennoch nicht zu viel, da ich sie mit zum Reiten nehme, sollte sie sich sicher und umrahmt fühlen. Außerdem sollte der Rucksack zusätzlich fluggesellschafttauglich sein, das ist bei dem Mini, mit seinen Maßen, gegeben.
    Die Produkte sind nicht günstig und dennoch ist der Preis gerechtfertigt. Die Qualität passt: Unempfindliches, robustes Material, es ist alles hochwertig verarbeitet, gut durchdacht und -ganz wichtig- der bequeme Tragekomfort.
    Ich habe einfach ein paar Monate etwas zur Seite gelegt und mir dann mein Lieblingsmodell bestellt.

    Ich habe den Dackelrucksack erhalten und bin total begeistert. Unser Hund liebt ihn und hat ihn zum Lieblingsort , auch zuhause , bestimmt. Ich habe bei dem Preis erst geschluckt aber der Rucksack ist super wertig verabeitet und wird uns und Haggis die nächsten 15 Jahre das gemeinsame Leben sehr erleichtern! Wirklich toll!!!

    Ok, die positiven Bewertungen passen soweit.
    Was ist negativ: fehlenden Reflektoren und mangelhafte Sichtbarkeit auf dem Fahrrad, bei Dunkelheit!!!!
    Das peitschenhafte Flattern der Schulterriemen-Verlängerung nach hinten, an den Kopf des Hundes!!!
    Zwei üble Mängel, die zu dem verlangten Preis nicht passen!

      Es freut uns, dass dir der Rucksack grundsätzlich gefällt. Gleichzeitig verstehen wir gut, dass Sichtbarkeit und Tragekomfort – gerade bei bestimmten Nutzungssituationen – ein sensibles Thema sind.

      Unsere Rucksäcke werden von vielen Kund:innen auch beim Fahrradfahren genutzt. Sie sind jedoch in erster Linie als Tragerucksäcke für den Alltag, Spaziergänge und Wanderungen konzipiert und keine speziellen Fahrradrucksäcke mit Fokus auf Sichtbarkeit bei Dunkelheit. Für Fahrten im Dunkeln empfehlen wir daher grundsätzlich zusätzliche Beleuchtung oder reflektierende Accessoires – unabhängig vom verwendeten Rucksack.
      Zu den Schultergurten: Bei korrekter Einstellung sind die Gurtenden so ausgelegt, dass sie den Hund nicht berühren. Sollte sich das in deinem Fall anders angefühlt haben, tut uns das leid. Oft lassen sich solche Punkte mit kleinen Anpassungen verbessern – hierzu stellen wir auch eine Einstellhilfe zur Verfügung.

    Unser Barni findet den Rucksack super ❣️ der Rucksack lässt sich sehr gut tragen. Toll finde ich die verschließbaren „Fenster“ seitlich und vorne. Barni liegt dabei entspannt im Rucksack und kann rausgucken 🙂 Lieben Gruss Birgit
