The Dachshund Backpack was specifically developed for dogs with long backs. Designed in Berlin, this model features a generous base area combined with a lower overall height – the ideal architecture for Dachshunds, Corgis, or for transporting two smaller dogs. This allows the long physique to fit comfortably, while the flat silhouette ensures optimal load distribution close to the body.
Every detail is crafted in a European manufactory to guarantee the highest standards of durability and longevity. The extremely hard-wearing Cordura fabric is dirt-repellent and designed for heavy-duty use on trails, in everyday life, or on cycling trips.

Important Note on Fit: Since this model is optimized for the dog’s back length (wide & low), the back panel for the human wearer is shorter. For tall individuals, this may cause the hip belt to sit too high. In this case, our PeakStone or Bulldog models often offer a better fit, or the optional PaddedPlus Hip Belt can compensate for the difference.

The Dachshund Backpack is our answer to the unique requirements of Dachshunds, Corgis, and dogs of similar stature. Designed in Berlin and handcrafted in the EU, it is the ideal companion for hiking, cycling trips, and extended day tours. While the extremely robust Cordura material is dirt- and water-repellent – withstanding even the harshest conditions – three integrated 3D mesh windows ensure maximum air circulation. The four available sizes (Mini (S) to Extra Wide (XL)) are optimally designed for loads up to 16 kg (35 lbs) and ensure sufficient space for a natural seating position even with a back length of 60 cm (23.6 in).

The backpack offers uncomplicated entry: since the front can be opened completely to the bottom, your dog can walk in relaxed or be placed inside stress-free. The three closable panoramic windows offer an unobstructed view and optimal ventilation. The flat, wide geometry ensures that your dog’s weight remains close to your center of gravity, while the reinforced architecture guarantees a dimensionally stable, secure structure. With additional features such as an internal zipper pocket for equipment, an external pocket, and side mesh pockets, this backpack is the perfect symbiosis of specialized equipment and high comfort.

The Extra-Wide Ergonomics Specialist
As the first dog backpack of its kind, the Dachshund Backpack (60 cm / Extra Wide (XL)) was specifically developed to solve the challenge of transporting sturdier breeds such as Corgis, large standard Dachshunds, or mixed breeds. While conventional carrying systems often neglect the posture of long-backed dogs, our Extra-Wide model allows dogs up to 16 kg (35 lbs) and a back length of approx. 60 cm (23.6 in) to maintain a natural, ergonomic seating position.
The 60 cm / Extra Wide model includes all the premium features of our series, plus specialized upgrades for higher loads: It is equipped with padded hip fins (including zippered pockets) and professional load lifter straps to guarantee maximum comfort on demanding tours.
Note: Due to its specialized width, we recommend choosing the size exactly according to the dog’s build and not opting for the widest model unnecessarily. The more unused space remains inside, the more cumbersome the backpack becomes during movement.

The Dachshund Backpack is not just the answer to long backs – due to its exceptional width it is also our only backpack ideally suited for transporting two (or more) pets. Here, two dogs can relax side-by-side, lie down, and enjoy the view together.

I’m so happy with this Dachshund Backpack for my standard dachshund, Oscar. The backpack is well-made and sturdy, and it’s the perfect size for Oscar. He’s very comfortable in it, and he loves to go for walks in it.
The only thing I would change is the colour. I would love to see a more vibrant colour option, like a bright red or yellow. But overall, I’m very happy with this backpack.

We already had a PeakStone backpack in size Medium, but it was too high for Cloe. The Dachshund backpack is less high, which makes it perfect for her small body.
The backpack is well-padded and provides Cloe with plenty of room to sit or lie down. We can carry her for long distances without her getting uncomfortable.
